Exciting news!  The Youth and Children’s ministry for St John’s site has been integrated into the new website for St John’s so this site is now closed.  You’ll find the new pages at http://www.windleshamchurch.org.uk/youth-children-and-families.

christingle 6th dec

Our Christingle service this year is on Sunday 6th December.  Come along at 4pm to make your own Christingle and have some refreshments.  The service will start at 4:30pm and is a really great way to start the journey to Christmas.

Note that there is no Junior Church at the 10:45am service on Sunday.

aircraft 15th nov 2-4pm

Our next Dangerous Club for Boys is on Sunday 15th Nov 2-4pm at the Link, St John’s, Windlesham.  Our theme is going to be aircraft and we’ll have Airfix models, paper planes and competitions.  The cost will be £5 (to cover the costs of the models) and it promises to be great fun so why not join us?!

new youth club

There’s a new youth club on Friday nights in Windlesham for 11-16 year olds.  The club starts on Friday 6th Nov 2009 and runs from 7:30pm-9pm.  You’ll need to register if you want to come along and all the information you need and the registration form are here.

bright and light party 31st Oct

We’re having a Bright and Light party on Sat 31st Oct from 4-6pm at the Link.  All Infants and Juniors are welcome and we’ll be having fun, games, music and we’ll eat supper together.  There’ll be prizes too for the best fancy dress based on this year’s theme: Saints and Heroes.  Please book with Jo by Weds 28th Oct if you want to come at jowilkins@btinternet.com or 01276 474429.  There’s a suggested donation of £3 to help cover costs and please bring a completed registration form with you (2009 bright and light party registration form).

dangerous club for boys: geocaching

Our next Dangerous Club for Boys meet is coming up on Sunday 11th Oct from 2pm-4pm at The Lookout in Bracknell.  We’ll be geocaching this time so bring along a GPS if you’ve got one (iPhone and iTouch have one built in).  We’ll be doing a fair amount of walking and scrabbling around so make sure you’ve got the right boots/shoes and clothes.

Our meeting point will be on the benches between the Discovery Centre and the play equipment and we’ll have a drink and snack afterwards so bring some money for the Cafe or a flask of something.  So we know to expect you please drop Stefan an email.

stars – christmas funday

Come and explore the Christmas story at Stars, this year’s Christmas Funday, on 19th Dec 2009 at St John’s.  With the usual mix of fun, craft, games and music, the funday is open to all years R-6.  Registration forms can be downloaded below and the closing date for registration is 1st Dec.  Best be quick as the fundays fill-up very fast!

global gang 2009

Our 2009 Global Gang – Operation: Neighbourhood - involved masses of fun and some pretty cool stuff in the community.  Whilst the Infant school aged groups put on a tea concert for the elderly in the village, the Juniors attacked Windlesham’s rubbish in a huge litter pick.  Well done to all who came and to the team who helped.

summer challenge and dates for dangerous club for boys

OK, the summer is here so it’s time for a challenge.  If you’re by the beach sometime during the holidays, why not build a model boat from bits you find on the beach (beware of sharp objects!).  Once your masterpiece is ready write on the side or add a note in a waterproof container saying “Please photograph and email the photo and location found to events@dangerousclubforboys.com”.  We’ll have a prize for the most travelled boat.
